Window and Door Switches
I am in the process of painting my truck and i took the door panels off to remove mirrors. i unplugged switches like normal and went along with painting. today i hooked up the switch on the passenger side and no response for anything the window or the lock. So i went to the driver side hooked up that switch and it worked. So i rolled the window down on both pass. and driver side windows. Later on today i went to roll the pass. side window up again with the driver side and no response. Now only the driver side switch works for driver window and locks on either door don't work. I don't even know where to start to assume what went wrong. I am in need of help before it rains.
I just unplugged the mirrors on mine and left windows plugged in. I assume you double checked the plugs and they are tightly connected. Shouldn't be a fuse - if one works the other should as well as they are on same fuse.
Take a multimeter and see if you have 12v at the connector to start.

yeah not fuse i checked and i can do drivers side window. i just don't see why they would give out with no warning..... i am going to JY this week would it just be easier to buy 2 new ones? if that is most likely the problem.
Possibly.... If you don't have the service manual for your truck already, grab one from the faq section, start poking wires, and see where your power is disappearing at.

There is a diy window switch contact repair in the diy section...the contacts are probably gummed up...fine sand paper our nail file fixed it for me. Besides, if it doesn't work, you are going to the jy one way or another. Try fixing it for less first.
