Default 94 cranks too long and runs rough??? Help!

I have done a bunch of searching but did not find any symptoms like mine. Any help is much appreciated!! Yestereday I got in my 1994 Dodge 1500 4x4 with 5.9 gas (165,000 miles) and it started just like normal. I drove to the store and when I got back in to start it it kind of coughed like a small backfire. When I tried to start it again it cranked for about 10-12 seconds before it started. It acted like it was flooded. I went on my way to town and when I got back in to start again, same thing. On my way home it seemed to have a miss under a load. I could stomp the pedal and it seemed to run ok. When I try to start it it cranks fine but does not want to start until I touch the gas pedal. Sometimes it will start, and sometimes it just seems to diesel. It had a new fuel pump installed about 4 months ago. With a pressure gauge attached to the schrader valve I have 42 psi with the engine running. It did not bleed down when I turned the truck off. I took off the throttle body and cleaned everything good, including removing the IAC and cleaning it. I have no CEL and I am stumped. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance!!

Take whiff of your oil, smell like gas? May have a failing TPS, or coolant temp sensor.

I will check that. I have downloaded the TPS test using my DVM and I will check that too. Will a bad TPS not always throw a code? Thanks!!

Not always...... I am not entirely sure how the PCM determines any particular sensor is "bad"...... certainly not the most accurate of decision making processes though.

Test the coolant temp sensor while your at it. As far as the IAC goes. Cleaning it does not always work.

And btw, did you disconnect the negative battery cable before performing any of the work you did regarding the TB and the sensors on it?

Well checked out GPS and it was fine. While my head was under the hood with the key on I heard a very annoying high pitch tone. It was coming from the ECU. When I turned the key off it quit. But when I tried to start it no luck. Just cranks now. Should I hear the ECU? DRIVING ME CRAZY!! THANKS!

A bad O2 sensor can cause it to run rich, so maybe it can make it flood as well. I would pull it out and see what it looks like.

What does youer plenum look like? While O2 sensor is out, try to crank it and see what happens. Also, it the battery good? I mean really good?
