Default Hazard and Turn Signals

So I'm new to the Forum, been checking it for a long time for all those random issues I have had.

Truck in question is an 01 4x4 Ram 5.9L. This has been my college truck, and I've decided I don't like the idea of a loan payment, I can fix a lot of things for the cost of a new one.

The problem as of today. On my way home from work I switch on the turn signal and notice it is not flashing in the reflection of the tail gate in front of me.

It is however turning on. So when I get home I check all four lamps and all will stay on when I have the associated signal on. No flash on any.

Next step, I turned on my hazards and the same problem. All four lamps will light up but no flash.

Is there a switch that I am unaware of that controls all of these.

Thanks for the Input

Fuse block on the side of the dash, round blue? feller in lower left corner, as you are standing there looking at it, is the combination flasher. I think yours is toast. Couple bucks at the parts store.

Same thing is happening to mine, except the flashers blink, but when the turn signals are engaged, they just stay lit.

I'll check that fuse.

It's not a fuse. It's the flasher. Open the door to the fuse box on the side of the dash and replace the flasher. It's a blue plastic box as has been stated. Of course I'm wrong in your case, you have a 96. So I believe you have 2 silver flashers.

Default opposite reaction

I'm kind of having the opposite effect on my 94. I push my flasher button I hear the ticks (noise is more rapid than when the regular turn signal is engaged) but none of the lights are flashing the dash kind of lights up but its very faint.

Check the flasher unit in the fuse block in the side of the dash. Yours should have two... one for the turn signals, one for the hazards. They are cheap, if all the bulbs work, and the turn signals work normally, just replace it.

Let us know if that fixes it. If not, we have more neat places for ya to look.

Welcome to DF.
