Default underdrive pulley set?

i've been hearing more and more about underdrive pulley kits and the performance gain from them. are they really worth the money? do they make a noticeable difference? has anybody had experience with these?

Well the science is solid... Gears would be a more noticeable gain

i have the hughes underdrive crank pulley, and i like it. there is a noticable throttle response change(for the better), and it seems to get up and go a bit better now. more low end torque so it seems.

Smaller diameter pulley/s. Makes the belt turn slower, so the engine is doing less work. So more power is going out the backside of the motor instead of the front

How will this effect cooling and Charging, seeing how the water pump and alternator will be turning slower ?

Volt gauge may get a little bit lower at idle, and thats about it. If you live in a hot climate, E-fans would be the ticket there, if it ever became a problem.
