Can you get them from any Interstate Dealer or just Outlet stores? I can't seem to find any outlets in my side of NY.

EDIT: Guess Syracuse is the closest one for me. 74 miles..

The old man would say " batteries are good for 36 months, dont need to buy one for any more then that and when its time is up, just know your going to need a new one."
Look on the internet for a store front. Super service and they will install it for you.
actually if a battery sits on a store shelf too long it goes back to be recycled... these can be bought as blems before being sent back some they all have the labels removed and are not all interstate brand.....they are literally batteries that would have been sold as new the day or week before but are now past their "freshness" date the same thing happens to the batteries in new cars that have been on the lot too long...
I have bought like 4 there so far over the years....got one in my truck , one in my lifted yamaha golf cart and one in my old harley golf cart..(I have a place at a campground and use them every weekend to cart my beer and my GF and I's asses around)

I honestly dont have any idea what you guys are crying about. His battery isnt going to explode and launch his hood off its hinges...

Ive had a hole in my battery for over a year, ever since it was wrecked. I was going to replace it after I got him back on the road, but after dropped coin on fenders, a hood, headlights, radiator, core support, bumper, etc., and welding a new frame horn on him.... I couldnt care any less about shelling out a C-note on a new battery.

Now the hole IS at the TOP of the battery, and i wouldnt go hooking up jumper cables directly to the negative post, but Ive been under the hood smoking cigs and driving him for thousands of miles in 105 degree heat with no problems...

Dont worry about it and just watch yer A when you hook jumper cables up to it...

or stick some bubble gum and duct tape on it...

Wow. Just wow. You don't even know how to properly connect jumper cables and you're yammering about how incredibly awesome you are by cutting corners and "saving money" not replacing a damaged battery?

I accidentally drill a 1/8" hole is side of a car battery once. We were doing body work on it and just slapped some bondo on it to plug the hole.
Not recommended but was selling the car anyway.

Chad, Why don't you just bondo the side of the battery? This might be your best option.

You know, I once put instant coffee in the microwave and traveled backwards in time.

thats pretty bad.... bondo absorbs liquid... it wont stop the leak...just slow it down... even chewing gum would have been a better option as bad as that suggestion was...

if your are too cheap to buy a brand new you could most likely go to a junk yard and get a good battery for $20. i bought one and it was great but not even a couple months later i was given an even better one. the one i bought at the junk yard could power my stereo all day and night and still have enough power to start my truck.
