How to repair a hole in a battery
Can you get them from any Interstate Dealer or just Outlet stores? I can't seem to find any outlets in my side of NY.
EDIT: Guess Syracuse is the closest one for me. 74 miles..

The Interstate battery deal is a good thing. I think they are rebuiding the batteries and selling them without having to warrranty them to long. Like they did in the old days... At lest they are not trying to scam u . I worked at a battery place when I was a kid. The old man would say " batteries are good for 36 months, dont need to buy one for any more then that and when its time is up, just know your going to need a new one."
Look on the internet for a store front. Super service and they will install it for you.

I honestly dont have any idea what you guys are crying about. His battery isnt going to explode and launch his hood off its hinges...
Ive had a hole in my battery for over a year, ever since it was wrecked. I was going to replace it after I got him back on the road, but after dropped coin on fenders, a hood, headlights, radiator, core support, bumper, etc., and welding a new frame horn on him.... I couldnt care any less about shelling out a C-note on a new battery.
Now the hole IS at the TOP of the battery, and i wouldnt go hooking up jumper cables directly to the negative post, but Ive been under the hood smoking cigs and driving him for thousands of miles in 105 degree heat with no problems...
Dont worry about it and just watch yer A when you hook jumper cables up to it...
or stick some bubble gum and duct tape on it...

Chad, Why don't you just bondo the side of the battery? This might be your best option.
thats pretty bad.... bondo absorbs liquid... it wont stop the leak...just slow it down... even chewing gum would have been a better option as bad as that suggestion was...
if your are too cheap to buy a brand new you could most likely go to a junk yard and get a good battery for $20. i bought one and it was great but not even a couple months later i was given an even better one. the one i bought at the junk yard could power my stereo all day and night and still have enough power to start my truck.
