Default How to repair a hole in a battery

My battery fell into the belt and burned a nice hole in the side, it's not horrible but it does leak battery acid. The battery still works great and the one cell it affected doesn't seem to be bad. I've tried epoxy to cover the hole in the plastic but the acid just ate through it, any ideas on a permanent solution? Also can you buy battery acid to put inside? Thanks a lot

For safety purposes I would just buy a new battery,
I've never heard of someone successfully patching a battery because as you said the acid eats through just about anything

Sounds to me like someone didn't take any science classes in high school.

Lol I'm still in highschool, but i read somewhere that you can melt the handle and it's the same material so do you think it's worth a shot? If not I have a warranty on it, idk if they'll replace it though

Not worth it. Bear in mind, the battery generates hydrogen gas, which is just a tad flammable...... exploding batteries are just bad.......

Bite the bullet, buy a new battery, I seriously doubt warranty will cover the hole. And, as stated above, get a battery hold down thingy.

I have always wondered what the proper nomenclature for those is.
