Default Did Poor Man TB and Noticed Oil

I took off my throttle body tonight and when i shined the flashlight in there i noticed there's about a quarter inch wide strip in the back left corner of the intake with oil in it. Its not bad but i realize i have to replace plenum. My question here is if it has just started i probably didn't mess anything up in my motor or foul my o2 plugs did i? I think i caught it before it got bad. Another question is is should i just buy the kit and bolts from Hughes and slap it on there or should i replace other stuff? thanks

You can find the plate with pan bolts on ebay for about half the price. Replace PCV also and it is a good time to replace the water pump and Timing set with double roller chain.

If your truck has high mileage (over 100K, or even close to it...) not a bad idea to replace O2 sensor in any event. They don't last forever.

Dist does NOT need to come off. Leave him in place. (save yourself some further headaches.)

Once you have the manifold out of the way, hit the broken bolt with some chems, clamp some vice grips on it, and tap on the end of the bolt with a hammer while you try and work it back and forth. Keep up with the chems, and the tapping, and don't reef on it too hard, and it should come right out.

I moved the bracket to get access. Don't remember if it had to come off or not, but it was not difficult.\\And PCV is only a couple dollars at dealer. You can pick it up and dtick it on afterwards.

the pvc could very well been the actual source of the the oil he found...... they are supposed to be replaced every 24,000 miles according to what I've read.. This is a perfect example of what I was trying to say before about the plenum gasket being so overplayed as the cause of everything... no one even bothers to check for the nomal causes of blowby like poor compression or a bad pvc valve... the oil pools up in the back because of the angle it sits on...

I just replaced the pcv valve a couple months ago i will buy a new one for the hell of it. My gasket was not completely bad but it was "bowed" out in one place from the intake and there was oil sitting in between gasket and intake. so weather or not it was the problem it is getting replaced. Better now before i get my license then at the end of the month when it would affect me being able to drive. someone has messed with it before i assume because one of the bolts to the manifold was already wrung off besides the one i did. and my intake was really dirty with oil stains.
