Yeah, it's cracked the aluminum housing. It was under some stress, I pulled the bolt out and then pushed the brace back into place and out the bolt back in, but I just hope the damage isn't already out of hand

In all reality, the braces don't even need to be there. Someone was probably in their previously, and cross threaded the bolt......

I thought they were Kindve unnecessary, but I just hope the housing won't split on me one day going down the road. Oh well, nothing can be done about it now I gues

So long as it is installed properly, not overtorqued, shouldn't be an issue. Check that the rest of the engine to trans bolts are tight though, no need putting undue stress on it.

I already checked and tightened everything while I was down there.

Who knew an inspection plate could make such a racket

Heat shields can do the same thing - and drive one crazy in the process. Glad you found it and it was a simple fix!
