Pick up tube is sold separately, it was 15 bucks last I checked. You can't take the "cover" feller off of it.... it's all crimped together. I was kinda curious what they had in mind when they made that big round pickup screen, and only left that slot in the 'shield' to draw oil thru..... Some folks have just cut it up a bit, to open it up more..... So long as it can't hit the bottom of the pan, and restrict oil flow, I don't see a problem with that.

Any metal shavings? that kind of thing?

I just got a new pick up tube, along with a new pump. Te new tube isnt stupid like the stock one.

Whole lots of gunk in it. In the bottom of the pan too.

No metal shavings tho, I checked it real close too. Tough little engine. Ran it about a week at probably 1/4 oil pressure. There was just a tiny tiny hole for the oil to draw up. Running great now.

I had this buzzing sound whenever in in gear and at low speeds, it goes away when I put it in park. What could it be?

Heat shields.

Or, maybe the plenum, or track bar?

Find someone you TRUST to help you, have the put the truck in gear, and stand on the brake, while you go looking for the noise.....

Or, find someone you DON'T like, have them look for the noise while YOU hold the brake, then, run them over.... Honest officer, it was an accident.......
