everything has checked out. Pump was fine but I still put the high flow on there. I have replaced everything in the coolant system and ignition systems. checked compression, coolant psi, everything. still overheats on the hills. I have a friend with the same truck that does the same thing and I have read hundreds of threads about others with the similar problem, and still no solution. I am going to put the 195 thermostat back in and see if maybe I just had 3 bad stats in a row [never know....]

Search sticky for each of these for details galore.

This is only the case if the seal goes bad. If imnpeller is bad and bearing and seal are good, no weeping. Usually bearing goes bad first, which in turn wollers (spelling?) out the seal.

And I agree that if there is air, then burp it. Crud may be the issue also. Doen't take much to clog enough lines in radiator to have significant effect on cooling efficiency...

Putting in a 195 stat will not keep it from overheating, and the possibility of 3 bad tsats is pretty slim. Are you running a tune to allow for the 180?

no tune for the 180, they do not make a tuner for the 96 and older. I agree, 3 in a row is slim but never know. 195 is the OEM so I fugue ill just go back to it and see. psi in the system is fine and was professionally flushed. no hydrocarbons in the coolant.

What brand T-stats are you using? And you sure they are getting installed in the correct direction?

just autozone stats, and yea, just as the manual shows. definalty acting lik e a stat though, runs fine all the time unless going up long stretches of road or in 4x4 going up the hill. gets a little hot with the A/C on too, but only overheats bad 4x4'in

For some reason, you are not getting cooling efficiency. Are you sure that radiator is not partially clogged?

Could be. It is new and has been flushed also. But the truck did this before the radiator swap.

Is there a pick up tube inside the overflow reservoir? I think there should be in order for excess coolant to be drawn back into radiator.
