They are both on the valve body, and easily accessed with the filter out of the way.

By the way, where is the pressure sender located? I assume the governor is accessed by removing the pan...is that where the sender is as well?

Thanks.
Because the gov solenoid and pressure switch 9 times out of 10 cause slow or no shift from 2nd to 3rd. I'm no tranny expert and I was just going with the odds. You have to remove the pan to replace them anyway. And after doing so and seeing whats in it the pan, will tell a better story. Just curious, but how did it shift before he had the tranny service done?

From what he has told me the problem has been there for a long time but because it still worked fine 2nd gear and up he never bothered. He just put up with the slow sluggish starts. He's religious about servicing his cars and trucks though so every 3000 miles it was in for oil change service and scheduled transmission services.

Aside from the transmission not going into 1st gear at a stop when in 'D' it shifts just fine in and out of every other gear.

I would suggest trying the key trick for the hell of it to see what comes up. But, for some unknown reason it doesn't work on a 98(I had one). You simply have to take it to a tranny shop and have them check the pressures with gauges or a scanner. Or replace the solenoid and adjust the bands, and hope for the best. Sorry, but thats the best of my knowledge as far as transmissions go.

For what its worth, and no disrespect for the man of z, but my issue sometime back was the same, and it was either the speed sensor or the solinoid.. both were clogged up.

I plan on replacing both either way. Can't hurt.

Did anyone dig up the BW pressure sender part number? I didn't find it yet in my search.

Thank you sir, that's the part number for the solenoid. It was posted a little bit earlier.

The one I still needed was the part number for the pressure sender.

That's perfect, thanks. I'll get those ordered and if successful I'll be sure to report back. You've been a huge help, same to everyone else, thanks so much.
