none of my gauges test when the key is turned on. I'm not against giving it a shot to see if the gauge is my problem. How much would you want for it?

If you can drive the truck up here, we can toss it in, see if it works, and if it does, 20 bucks.

Sound reasonable? (prolly cost ya more in gas to get up here. )

Does sound pretty reasonable to me. And I bet you're right about the gas lol. My only concern is I don't want to hurt it by driving it that far/fast without overdrive or Torque converter lockup. Do you think it'd be fine? or is it going to overheat the tranny or something?

I'm not trying to sound like a total amateur, I just haven't dealt with automatics in quite a while.

TCC lockup is really only REQUIRED in fourth gear, which you don't have anyway...... TCC is and advent of the 80's, no autos before then had them, and they lasted just fine. It should hurt the trans at all, provided the fluid is at the correct level, and your cooler isn't plugged up. (you get rid of that check valve yet?)

Well I guess I'll figure out tomorrow hopefully. My uncle is going to get the title signed off tomorrow so I can go put it in my name and plate it. I'm calling the insurance company while at work to insure it, so once I get off I'm gonna go pick it up and keep my fingers crossed.

The cooler seems to be working, it's got the Aux cooler in front of the radiator too, it got warm when running/driving yesterday but never hot to the touch. And I haven't touched it(or checked to see if it was there), but it was something on my list of things to do once I find it and see how to get rid of it.

This is my first Dodge truck, all very new to me. But really I love the truck already. I just cant wait to get everything working properly to start putting some miles on it and make my wallet lighter in the process. haha

Indeed. I love my truck, but, I don't particularly care for the gas mileage..... oh well, win some, lose some.

Lemme know when ya wanna come up, I can PM you directions and such. We can see what our schedules look like.

Honestly if this gets 10mpg average once I get O/D and TCC lockup working again I can't even consider it that bad. My previous trucks were all bad with alot less motor. 94 GMC 1500 was about 13mpg, 92 Bronco got about 9mpg, 91 GMC Suburban 2500 was around 9mpg too, and my 95 F150 got around 12mpg before the bigger tires.

Sounds good to me, I'll try to get in touch with you tomorrow once I see how it likes the drive home. Weekends are almost always free for me, and I get off work at 5pm weekdays.

Ok, thinking about this a little harder.... since you AREN'T getting TCC or O/D..... I don't think the problem is in the cluster....... gotta be before the PCM gets the signal.....

At the VSS, The orange wire is 8 volt supply.

White/Orange is signal return to PCM.

Black/Light Blue runs off to a splice that distributes to a selection of sensors.... Not completely sure just what it's purpose is..... apparently some flavor of sensor ground.... (which grounds at the PCM.......)

Verify you do indeed have 8 volts on the Orange wire.

Put the truck up on jackstands, put it in first, and let the engine idle, rolling the rear tires...... make sure you are getting an output signal on the white/orange wire, and have continuity to ground on the black/light blue wire. (digital meter please.)

Have a friend around (IN the truck.....) for safety.....
