Default '99 Ram wheels on '91 model 2wd?

Hey folks.. New to the forums, but I must say that this is one great resource! I have a '91 Dodge 2wd ext cab and I'm thinking of buying a set of 16" alloy wheels/tires from a '99 Ram 2wd. The bolt pattern is the same on both sets, 5 lug on 5.5 pattern, but I am concerned about the offset, brake clearance, etc.

My '91 has the factory steel 15" wheels, and I've attached a pic of the wheels I'm wanting to buy, and also a pic of a '91 model with the factory steel wheels like I have on mine. Are there any problems that will prevent these wheels from fitting correctly? I am worried that the later model wheels may set the tire too far inward? Thanks in advance,
Doug

Only one way to find out... Will the seller let you test fit one or two up front?

He probably will, but it's an hour drive one way so I was hoping to find out something ahead of time. Especially with gas being almost 4 bucks a gallon. lol

Yep, same bolt pattern. I'm just concerned about the offset. The newer wheels look as though they will set further inward than the stock steel wheel. I don't mind it being offset to the back a little more, as long as it doesn't end up looking too weird or making contact with the frame or something. I haven't be able to find a chart or anything to compare the back space on the newer wheels. I am going to contact the guy again today and see if he'll measure the backspacing for me.

Stockers should have a 4.5 to 5 inch backspacing. If yours is in that neighborhood.... should work fine.
