Looks like the spring for a clothes pin....... does your cupholder still do what it's supposed to?

The thing is, I don't even know which way it goes in. I remember it came off because the cupholder was pressed down past where it should go and the spring flew out. So, you would probably have to push it down to get it back in.

CUpholder still works the same, it just does not have the spring to dampen the cupholder.

As long as you don;t have anything in the cupholder when you are rock crawling, you won;t have any problems. Just keep it in the glove box until you want to spend a few hours trying to figure out how it goes in then put it back in.

you don't need the spring. It will close without the spring.

It does go to the cup holder, and the whole unit needs to be removed to reinstall it. And if it fell out, I'm betting the tabs that hold it in are broken anyway.
