Dash install help
Hey folks, new to the forum, and I did conduct a search on this site, also searched DIY and only found a couple of threads with little or no details. I recently bought a 94 2500 2WD, with a 5.9 Cummins, 127K miles. The truck is in pretty good shape, with the exception of the dash. It's my understanding the dashes on these models are notorious for cracking, and mine is no exception. I started to take it out tonight, and it came out in about 20 pieces. Does anyone know of a thread with details on installing a new one?. There are phillips head screws that attach from the inside (above glove box), and screws that attach from the inside holding the defrost vents to the dash, that I can't figure how in the heck you would re-install them. I figured with this common a problem, there would be a sticky on it, but I don't see one. Any help would be appreciated.

See if this helps. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...n-cracked.html
Have you already found a replacement? LMC Trucks and http://sandkindustries.com/DASH.html are sources for good replacements.

For the 94-97 trucks I would recommend the actual mopar part, as they are now made out of ABS plastic (the good kind), and can be had on ebay for about 200 bucks.

You can see in one of the pictures that it has ABS stamped right into it.

Thanks for the replies. I think I have a handle on it now, and I'm going to start today. My sister works in the parts dept at the local Chrysler dealership, so I was able to grab the factory dash cover for $158. It only comes in gray, but mine's gray anyway. I also have to reconstruct a portion of the dash itself, especially where the cup holder slides out. The supports are all broken where it screws into the dash (the dash cap also screws to these supports). I hit the bone yard yesterday, and cut these supports off of a good dash, and I'll attempt to graft these to my dash using a 2 part epoxy
