if you really want to get into it, upgrade the valve train to comp roller rockers, springs, valves, etc. and put a comp street/strip cam in it. that will really wake that motor up...better look into a torque converter, billet input and valve body for the trans if you go that far though...maybe even swap rear axles for a DANA80 to handle it. it'll lope at idle and be one mean engine.

"cold air intakes" don't do squat unless you give that engine a reason to need more air. (and forced induction obviously will do that)

I think you neeed to swap the first two paragraphs....

He needs to upgrade the valve train first...with heads and intake, then power adder. And lope is over rated.

Like the old hotrods with the fat cam. Stock, the engine idles nice and smooth. Start getting radical with the cam, and you get lope. Here's a good example.

You don't want much overlap with a supercharger/turbo setup anyway. No lope; that's for Normally Aspirated.

my recommendation was for either one or the other, not both. trans upgrades should be done either way.

they do make cams for boosted setups though. different cam than for normal aspiration.

as for valves take it the gasser valve train cant handle 2psi of boost? if not, do like they say and upgrade the valve train too.

Stock Magnum valves are two piece, more than one motor has been roached by them snapping in two...They are fine with stock spring rates. Mopar even sold their aftermarket 1.92 Magnum R/T heads built with the same two piece valves and .525 springs....Ouch!

Hmm...but if you get rockers, you're just taking power from something else though, aren't you?

Not really such a thing as taking power from somewhere else; you're either making more power or you aren't. HS 1.7RR's make more power because they act like a fatter cam.

Not to mention reducing friction due to the full roller design. A nice bump of up to 20 ft/lbs torque. Good bang for the buck there.

HS 1.7RR's are the way to go?
