Default 98 Dodge Ram Performance

Hey guys, I was just wondering what I could do to squeeze every last drop of horsepower I can get out of this truck. It's a 1998 Ram Quad Cab Laramie SLT with the 5.2L V8. The details are listed in my signature. The truck has 122k miles on it and I'm not really worried about mpg seeing as my commute is only to school and it's a price I'm willing to pay anyway haha Thanks again, guys

Oh and I forgot, I also adjusted the shift points for more aggressive shifts

Yep. Talk to Hemifever. He is one of the VERY few that support the 96-97 trucks.

Call him, and order one up. That will ensure you get the right one for your truck. Need to have the PCM part number on hand though.

Ah alright. If i did get this, would i have to change anything else on the truck so it can handle the torque/hp gains? Just wandering, whats the gains when i would add this to mine? I have a cai and an aftermarket muffler right now. I was thinking of either getting this programmer or getting a high flow cat and different headers.

A couple horsepower, and about 20ft/lbs of torque. Don't have to change anything else.

Also check the plenum. This can rob horsepower and efficiency as well as increase oil consumption. Another easy add on would be HS 1.7 rockers.

The plenum, SCT tune, and rockers are probably the best bang for the buck, and then the other option might be to look at y pipe on exhaust.
