They used to be $285 from Southeast. Damn. And I did not install the guide plates on either of my motors.

from What I've read in the past in another thread, John quotes everyone a different price depending on how impressed he is with your knowledge and how much free advertisement referrals he thinks he could get from you...

So, somebody with better knowledge on car mechanics would get a better deal?

Oh and where's a good place to get replacement parts for my truck? I know of Rockauto and they're great for engine parts etc. but when it comes to grilles and bumpers, you end up with the cheap stuff that doesn't last long. Somebody clipped my back bumper in a parking lot and the chrome cracked and is already starting to rust. The chrome is also peeling off of my grille, too. I'm thinking of just pulling the dents out and painting my bumper black and doing the same for my grille.

The non adjs are easier to install and use stock push rods.

The Adjs will make it easier to instal a cam later down the road, they are both 1.7s, no diff in gains.

Hey, what do you guys think of a shift kit? Are those worth it? Or should I wait until I get more hp?

Sonnax Sure Cure. Deals with some of the shifting issues our trucks have. Not to mention, if you follow the install procedure completely, you can then check your fluid level in park.

if your already having the transmission rebuilt I say go ahead and throw one in.... it will firm up your shifts but it isnt going to make the truck any more powerful...
both the transmission shop and local speed shop told me they dont prolong tranny life like many say.... you get less clutch wear but more stress on other components... the sonnex sure kit is a bit different as it actually improves the transmission design over a regular shift kit...
