is there a lip that prevents it from goin flush? I looked around and it seems as though many people asked the same question and said the result was its not supposed to be flush, even this link from dhvaughan it doesnt look flush.

If it seats nice and solid, I guess that is as good as it gets. I don't remember if mine was flush or not when I changed it.... been a while.

yea it seems like theres a tiny lip and its bottoming out on that before its flush..guess we will find out.

It does not sit flush with the cover, there ia a lip.

The sleeve is for use if the journal on the harmonic balancer is worn whereas just the seal will not work. If HB is not worn, it is not required.
