Ha, I would spend top dollar if I had it And I def DO NOT! Also I forgot op #4..rebuild the alt myself..still looking for a kit...I was wondering if I had a bad alt and a bad VR, would putting an alt in with a VR contained within work? And would it **** off the PCM or maybe not realize that I trying to trick it?? Yeah I keep posting updates..good ones I hope..

You could probably find a self-exciting alt for the truck.... (that just sounds kinky.....) and yes, it would annoy the PCM, as it wouldn't have a clue what the alt was doing. Have you been able to determine which part is bad yet? Need to do that first....

Ok, so the bat was bad..put the new one in and the gauge was way low..drove around and it didn't move..weak power in simple stuff like the wipers..so I'm thinking it's got to be the alt..my SM calls for a denso 136 amp...went online at advanced and it saying I can use a 90 amp alt?? I gotta ask that's not something I want to do right?

BTW, I don't plan on doing any towing, using a snow plow, no ac/heat, I put a kenwood stereo in (no amp)...

Go with the right size for your truck. You CAN use the 90 amp, but, my question would be, why would you want to downgrade???

I knew that was going to come up.......

Get the right one. Don't skimp. Otherwise, you will discover that you miraculously found a use for the 'extra' power, that you don't have......

It often does with me ;( If I try to do a rebuild, you think I should test the stator or just replace it? Need to by a new ohm meter at some point anyways..just tossed my old one last month..
