Holding the throttle wide open while attempting to start puts the PCM into "clear flood" mode, radically cuts back on fuel while cranking. Of course, once it starts, and you let off on the gas, entirely possible that it will still flood out, and stall...

How's your engine coolant temp sensor look?

Got a voltmeter? Check voltage on both pins..... somewhere there is a chart that should give values vs. temp..... not sure where that crept off to though... or, if you have a scanner you can get your hands on, see what temp the PCM thinks the engine is.

tried the pedal to the floor method and got her to start, started out at around 900 rmp idle then down to about 600-700 after a minute. when i put her in gear she dropped to about 300 rpm and came back up to 500. since i'm still at work i haven't taken her for a drive yet but i did get her to start up. hoping that i can keep her running and get her to line out.

If it is been flooding quite a bit of late, solve the problem, and CHANGE the oil. At least it starts.....
