Default Shopping list (Water pump, timing chain)

Hi guys, after my last post on my engine rattle sound I figured that while I am fixing that I might as well take a look at the timing chain and water pump. Since I live in a S$%? hole with very limited resources for parts and support I am looking for a part list of what I need to do the job.

So far I have, water pump and gasket, timing chain, sliders and gasket but I am not sure if the harmonic balancer and sprockets are required.

Thanks
ZZ3

Harmonic balancer should be fine. Use the right tool to pull it.

What sprocket are you asking about? If you go with a double roller timing set, the sprockets will be included. Check this SITE.

Don't forget coolant, oil change and filter. A torque wrench is recommended.

And what are sliders? Got me on that one also.

Forget about the sliders, that is my quad/MX 4 stroke engine background speaking.

I was refering to the crankshaft sprocket.

You'll need a 1 1/4 in socket to get the crank bolt out. Not sure if you have one of those. I had to hunt around for it

Sprockets are part of timing set.

also want the bypass hose, and some hose clamps.... (goes from pump, to intake manifold. It hides under the A/C compressor.)

Not sure on the '99's but the harmonic balancer on my '01 requires a 3 jaw puller to get it off.

It is the same on a 99. Use the puller to pull the center hub. Do NOT pull from the outer part of balancer. It is held on by interference fit with a piece of rubber. If you pull this apart, you will have to get a new balancer. Use the bolt holes on the hub.

Thanks for the advice, how about the holes in the center, are they threaded?
