Default Fixed Plenum Now Need to Replace Fuel Rail

I fixex my plenum yesterday on my 97 Dodge Ram 2500. Over all it wasn't too bad took about 8 hours overall. Most of the time was spent messing around with my 18 month old. I would say it took more like 4 to 5 hours. The install wasn't bad just a pain.

Here is the problem. My little brother was helping me aka the mechanic. I was watching the youtube video the sticky for the plenum repair. He had to get a special tool to remove the fuel line. Mine had some sort of quick disconnect. Well anyways... My genius of a brother could not get the quick disconnect to reconnect completely so he tapped it with a hammer and cracked it off so it now looks like I have to buy a new fuel rail. Once I get the new fuel rail I just have to reattach the alternator, ac compressor and the belt.

Where is the best place to buy a new fuel rail? Do I have to make sure it has the quick disconnect (is that the correct term) on it for the fuel line?

I am so unbelievably frustrated right now. I need the truck running again for work. I have to pick up materials for a job this week.

Plastic fuel rail, 97 only. Dealer or junk yard.

I'll take a picture when I can. I left the tuck at my parents. My brother was too lazy to bring all his tools over. Are you asking if the whole fuel rail was plastic? I think so. That means I have to get the exact one doesn't it?

Yes and no, you can replace it with a steel one, but then you also have to replace the supply line from the fuel pump.

The part on the rail is female but it is broke off.

That is what I was afraid of. That would be a lot more work, time and money.

I called one local junk yard and they said $60 but would not tell me if it was the right fuel rail or not. They said I would have to go and look for myself.

I want too. I'm so pissed at him. He just walked away after he did it.
