NLA parts for RAM 2500
Howdy all--
I'm new here.
I did a quick search of the forum on this subject but didn't stumble into what I was hoping to find. If I'm asking the same question for the umteenth time-- and there's no real answer... sorry to be a bother..
I like so many of us am being driven to tears with parts for our beloved MOPARs turning NLA.
I need to get my hands on a parts book that covers the '97 RAM 2500.
Any suggestions where I might find such a creature?
I'm trying to find some NOS parts-- all reported NLA by my MOPAR parts source.. For example, the bracket that holds the charcoal cannister is NLA and the parking brake cable retainers that wrap around the rear axle-- on my truck all rusted to pieces and all NLA..
Also annoying the MOPAR parts source tells me the parking brake cable extension is NLA. Either I have to build the NLA parts myself-- or does anyone have any good places to start the NLA parts hunt? I'd like to get the parking brake to work...
Seems to me like there must still be lots of '97 heavy duty pick-ups rolling around-- I could understand it if it as an '67 or '57 pick-up.. but 1997-- is it really that old a vehicle? What if I brought it to a MOPAR dealer for repair-- they tell me "sorry but we can't fix the parking brake"?
Advice anyone?
Many thanks in advance.

Parts manuals are available for download in the FAQ section here. (stickied thread, right along with service manuals. Grab the 96 version for your truck.)
There are a few places that may have what you are looking for, they may not be NOS parts.... but, still useable. Check out LMC Truck for one.
The dealer may or may not try to find used parts to repair your truck...... some will, some won't. Beyond that, not sure how they would handle parts not being available.

Howdy all--
Thanks to everyone who's replied to my plea for help with the NLA 2500 trinkets I'm in search of...
Downloading the parts book(s) for this truck has been a monster help.
Now I'm no longer at the mercy of the MOPAR parts counter man...
Armed with part #'s I can get a better handle on what parts are NLA and what's actually avail..
My 2500 is a garage queen-- 1997 with 25,000 miles on the clock. Essentially a plowing machine and occasional "sport coupe".
For jack-assing stuff around my 97 Grand Caravan AWD ES is hard to beat. Most of the time only have driver's seat in it. GC's got a longer cargo bed than the truck, don't have to lift up as high and all's enclosed. So far so good with the van-- 140K on the clock and trans has been A-OK (knock on wood).
I'm located in the Northeast-- and even though my 2500's been garage kept, washed 'n' waxed etc, it's still become rusty! Even the engine cooling fan's rusty! I guess 14 yrs in the Maine winters puts my truck way beyond its design life.
I'll report back once I get a better handle on what parts are NLA and what's available.
Thanks again to all who've replied...

Here are two parts that seem to be NLA.
I get these part #s from the 1997 parts books:
axle bracket, clamp, parking brake
pass side: 52008668
driver's side: 52008751
Both come up as something like "part number unknown". Which I'm assuming means NLA.
Maybe the parts book numbers have been superseded?
The brackets attach to the Spicer 6 rear axle and retain the parking brake cables along the axle.
Both are rusted too thin to be easy to salvage. Later this week I'll sandblast to eval the rusty parts. I'd prefer to find good preferably new replacements.

I'll see whats in the JY Saturday morning, as long as it's not raining again and the truck(s) are not right on the ground .
And another thought. You might go to home depot or lowes and look in the plumbing section. There are brackets similar for hanging PVC pipe, that you may be able to modify.
