Default 37's on a 2500?

I am going to put 37's on my truck 12.5 wide. I have a 2001 2500 4x4 stock suspension for now. How much fender do I have to cut or how high do I have to go to make it fit? Are there longer springs I can get for another truck to give a little lift? I would think the rear will not be a problem but I have not measured it.

You are gonna need 4 to 6 inches of lift to fit those..... not gonna be an easy way to do it, gonna require some flavor of lift kit.

I would go with at least 4.88 gears, if not 5.13's with 37's...

4" of lift will clear 37's on a 2500 4x4. It will have a similar stance as mine, low slung over big tires, but it shouldn't rub. I personally like the look of minimal lift and big meats. I have actually heard of people fitting 37's with a 2.5" levelling kit, and ditching the plastic inner fenders.

If I was building for 37's I would go 5.13's. 4.88's will put you back in the stock powerband, while 5.13's will make the guy next to you wonder how your old ram on enormous tires just pulled on him from that stop light

What motor do you have in your truck? Just curious.

Cummins that is stock power for now but not for long. I had 35's with a 6.2 detroit NA. This Cummins will have no problem with 37's.

How much room do you gain taking the inner fenders out? I can fab something up to make it look good. But I was looking and without actually taking the plastic out I would guess an inch.

Having been upside down in the mud with muddy water coming in and the doors don't open I like to keep it as low as possible. I don't mind cutting metal and welding. That is the only reason I like the sliding rear window. You can get out when you are upside down and the mud is holding the doors.

^^^ Diesel? Screw the 5.13's. I would do 4.10's though. Auto or manual? Just curious...

Well I would level the front, pull the rear half of the plastic fenders out, and throw the 37's on. If you don't like it, cut accordingly. You will most likely only have rubbing troubles (roubbles? ) in the rear side of the front fender, so just giving it a bit more angle back should do the trick.

It is an auto. I wonder how hard it is to change to standard? I am guessing with a donor truck it should not be too hard. But that is a project for another day.

I just found pics of a 2nd gen with 37's. It had a 2" leveling kit and minor trimming to the fender.

Has anybody put 3500 front springs on a 2500? I wonder how much lift I would get out of that?
