I'd say start shopping, look for deals. Unless you want the bend over special.

I bought my Eagle forged stroker crank, Eagle H Beam rods, ARP main studs, ARP head studs and ARP rod bolts and forged JE pistons for 1K shipped...Even had a new JE piston because one was scuffed.

My Fastman ported Eddy heads were 1.5K, they make power past 6200 rpm, new Manley Nextek springs w/ titanium retainers shipped for 225.00.

Took me several years to gather parts...The machine work, balance and assembly of the short block was 1540.00, I did everything else.

It pays to shop...

So it is a matter of the rotating assembly, boring the block (how much?), cam, and I assume better heads...and of course nothing less than a Mega Viper behind it!

Anything else? I think I need to start figurine how much I need to put away each month to see if I need to do this.....

Killer deal....

I bought the whole 408 unassembled for 1500 shipped, block needed a sleeve so the seller didn't want to sell it, gave me 500 bucks back.

I scored a FAST XFI with all the harnesses and dual sync distributor for 1300 and a used 2 bbl M1.

Right now I'm trying to snipe a MSD two step off EBAY BUt people keep driving up the bids...I reall only want the plug, MSD doesn't just selll the plug...SCAM.
