This was a great question, I still have an issue where the engine just shuts off, but I have noticed at
  • Idel No Problem smooth and steady
  • 1750 RPM - RPM's slowly drop to about 15/1600 with no throttle postion change
  • 2500 RPM - Holds steady
So I am attempting to correct issues before replacing the PCM, so now off to clean the TB and check fuel pressure.

I know the PCM controls alot of these things, but something caused it to fail and I would like to get another 200k plus out of my next PCM

So here is my update..

Replaced all the relays in the engine engine area.. No Change
Disconnected cleaned and reconnected all engine grounds.. No Change
Had battery and alternator checked.. Alternator good, replaced battery (Dead cells, only 110 amps on a 800 amp battery) ... No change
Removed and cleaned TB and IAC Sensor.. Running for the last 350 miles with no problem and idles nice now.

I think I am going to run that seafoam or whatever it's called to clean the inside since there is not anything outside of normal buildup in the intake area and I suspect the PCV was not replaced in a while (since I don't recall doing it myself) before this last round of a tune up.

Thanks for all the info and advise from everyone

Back to the drawing board for me...

Two more sensors that control the PCM to replace and then I will be truly lost if this continues. Really wish it would be a consistent problem so it would be easier to troubleshoot.
