Default Plenum - my turn

looks like my guess was right and plenum gasket needs to be replaced. Between this and the little tune up I'm giving it while it's apart I ought to have a race truck now!

I've been looking at threads and it's looking like I'll be going with NGK V-powers, what do you think?

I would get champions. Cheap, good spark plugs.

Whatever you get just be sure to stick to copper. The iridium and platinum junk is awful for these trucks

Agree.. these trucks will like the regular ole copper plugs.. the fancy high priced iridium plugs and whatnot don't do anything for these trucks..

I have tried them all and do not like the autolites, It goes from spark knock to spark knock + miss-fire. The NGK V-Power coppers are good and so are the Champion copper plus. I have learned though the years that if there is a spark plug that has the screw post tops don't use them. Just my opinion.

imo i would steer clear of champion plugs. my 81 killed 3 champion plugs after it flooded the engine with gas. the ngk's on the other hand have been good to me. i have put them through hell and back and they still run my trucks good.

X2. My truck does not like the Autolites. Misfire on #5 and the engine runs like a dog.
