use old motors in newer rams?
i am attempting putting a nice 76 360 i have in my 95 ram,the ram is mint came with 318 auto 4x4 short box, this truck will be run strickly on propane! the questions i have is,is there a way to use the crank sensor for the computer, there is no provision 4 it on the block! also the belts i have figured out but can i adjust the computer for the new combo or get an aftermarket one,i am lifting the truck and putting 1 ton axles on it so it will be modded out already, any input on someone doing this type of build would be awesome!
Ez answer then "no" pcm at all for the ign side of the motor, use after market dizzy and ign box for the LA motor. A fast timing curve is needed for a propane motor, they also like big compression numbers as well. Do it right and you can make some big hp on propane.
Edit: Have you tried bolting on the Magnum motor mounts to the old LA block?
Pentickton? in BC down south?

Tranny and t case, Well 46rh is what's in your truck and as far as I know no pcm to control it, so you might be able to use the org one in the truck. I am not a tranny expert by any means so I hope someone with more exp will chime in here to help you on that.
Years ago I put a 360 from a 1997 Grand Cherokee in a 1978 D100 that originally had a Slant 6. Dodge was good about keeping things interchangeable. I went from the Slant 6 to an LA 360, and then up to a Magnum 360, and the mounts and TF727 worked with both generations of the 360. The motor mounts should not be an issue for you.
