Well 103F here in the shade today. I got stuck in traffic today for about an hour of less than 5MPH driving. The motor did not over heat and the A/C was blowing cold!

This is a Snap On MTG 2500 graphing scanner. It reads most, if not all, PCM data, and with the trans module, it even reads trans temp and pressures. Monitors O2 sensors, IAC, TPS, engine temp....everything I can think of. Will also graphe it, print it. Great tool. Snap On discontinued it when they went so solus I think. Picked up on ebay pretty reasonable. Reads codes, clears codes. Don't know how I got by so long without something like this.

One of my coworkers just got an app for his Iphone that connects to a wireless OBDII adapter that looks really nice. He has not had a chance to check it out yet but IF it is as good as it looks I may get one for Android.

Yeah if you don't have the time or desire to fabricate a shroud then I think the TCP kit is the way to go.

forgot to ask you, how does the stock alternator hold up to this? does it handle everything perfectly fine?

also, do you think i could do a dual 16" setup without the shroud? i know the shroud plays a VERY big key in air flow, but i just can't afford to buy one nor do i have the material to build one.

No. It will also do non OBD systems, if you have the adapters for it. The set I have has a number of vehcile specific adapters fro some vehicles back to the mid 80's.

I am running a TCP dual fan set up (with shroud) and alternator is handling it very well.

im thinking im gonna have to build a shroud for it to properly cool like it should. there was an old thread a few years back of a guy that did an e-fan build by himself. he was good, i think he was a mechanical engineer that specialized in airflow lol.
