Default 98 1500 E-fan conversion

Well I decided to do an electric fan conversion on my 98 Ram 1500. It will have 2 16" fans, a custom made fan mount and simple relay and temp switch control. I am still working on this but here are some pics of my progress so far.

That's perfect. The key to a successful and effective fan swap is the shroud. Good fab work.

Nice. Any idea what you are going to do about the washer/coolant overflow bottles?

That looks really good! I did two 16'' fans on mine but just mounted them to the stock shroud!

Thanks guys...it should be cool once I finish it.

The fans are rated at 120W 12V at 2500CFM so I am assuming 10A each. I have not measured the current draw yet. The start up amps will be more.

Yeah they will mount in a similar fashion to the TCP shroud. With the TCP the sides are the mount and the center bolts to those. Mine will be the oppasite and the sides will bolt to the center shroud section that is bolted to the old shroud mounting locations.

Mine uses 1/8" aluminum diamond plate with an interlocking 1/8"x1/2" aluminum angle frame and a piece of 1/16"x1/2" aluminum U channel down the center between the fans to stiffen up the diamond plate. So I should be able to either drill and tap or through bolt them to the angles on the sides.
