Default Holley Throttle body and MOPAR perf single plane intake

Hello Everyone,

I have been doing a lot of searching lately and haven't been able to find much information on this topic. We all know the wonderful stock intake has plenum pan issues, and I figured, if I'm going to be taking my truck apart to fix it (again) why not consider an upgrade? I was on summit racing and found this intake and throttle body.

I was thinking of adding a CAI and headers to the mix, try to liven up the little 318. However, I am hesitant to make such a purchase because I don't know what other people have experienced out there with either the intake of the throttle body. Would this be a wise move? I'm not looking for a street racer here, just something to bring some more guts to the 5.2. Its a 5 speed, reg cab, 4x4 if anyone needs to know that. Thanks for your time and knowledge!

That intake is fine as long as you install a lower gear ratio. You'll lose more bottom end with that intake and the 3:55 gears you have currently.

I'd do gears instead, they'll bring more out than the intake and tb. Definitely in the low end and as zman said you'll lose a lot of low end with the intake. Unless you compliment it with 1.7 roller rockers or a cam I'd go with re-gearing to 4.10

^^^ Or even lower gearing if you are gonna run bigger tires at all.

Hello Everyone,

I currently have 3.73 gears in the truck. Also, the main reason I was asking about the intake and throttle body was because I need to take it apart anyway to do the plenum gasket. Has anyone had any experience with the TB? I do plan on upgrading to a 285/70 17 tire this fall. Thank you everyone for all your input!

"Has anyone had any experience with the TB?" What does that mean? And what does it matter? Taller tires need gears, simple as that.

I'd just stick with the stock
Manifold and tb. Get the gears. I have a 318 with 3.55s, 285/75/16s and it SUCKS

I went the way of gears 456 1.7 Harland sharp roller rocks and a SCT from Hemifever. I also have 35's on my truck. I do have a Mopar M1 intake for my 318, but at this point I don't see me installing it on this truck. I need to put it on Ebay
