Default 94 V10 auto Bogs under acceleration

I've got a 1994 Ram 2500 V10, automatic 4x4. It has 101K miles on it, fresh plugs and wires about 300 miles ago. Brand new fuel pump at the same time. It has true dual exhaust, with Catco cats(on when I got it), and no mufflers.

Now my issue just started out of no where today. I put about 20 bucks in the tank and then I had it idling for a little bit in a parking lot, I was charging the air to actually get it working. I finished up and started the drive back to my grand parents house. I was going up a hill at about 40mph and i gas it some gas to hold speed and it started to bog down, let off the gas and it cleared up again. Floored it, and the bog got worse, wouldn't rev at all and sounded like it wanted to shut off. Let it come down to idle and it was fine. I've tried reving it up in neutral and sometimes it'll go to redline, others it'll go to about 4k and that all it'll do, and the worst is sometimes it won't go past about 3k rpm. Not really too sure what it could be. It literally drove perfectly on the way to the store, and has since I've gotten it. So anything I should check to find the problem?

I thought maybe low fuel pressure, but I don't seem to be losing gas anywhere, can't see or smell any leaks. And it idles fine, just won't rev up or run right when getting on the gas more than about 1/4 to 1/2 the travel.

What brand fuel pump did you put in it?

Put a gauge on it, and see what pressure is doing.

If you let it sit, and cool down, will it then run fine again for a while?

it was a napa branded pump. With a carter module on it.

I'll have to find someone with some pressure gauges to hook up.

And don't know yet, I'm in that phase right now. It literally just started doing this half an hour ago.

TPS maybe? If it is not reading correctly, PCM cannot adjust to added gas. Does it smell like it is burning rich when this happens?

Since you did not mention it, can we assume that it is NOT setting CEL?

Didn't even think to say it. But correct, no CEL.

That is something I hadn't thought of, but wouldn't a bad TPS trip a code? And to be honest I'm not sure, I can't smell it when it's choking out from all the way up in the cab, my pipes dump out the rear.

It's idling a little uneven too, almost feels like a miss but doesn't sound like a miss. Engine shakes a bit and you can feel in just sitting in the driver seat.

I did notice tonight that if I keep it floor driving down the road it will get to the point that the revs slowly come down to about 1500 and it's nearly silent like it's practically shut off just some pops out of the pipes, and what sounds like backfiring occasionally only it sounds like it's coming from the exhaust only under the truck not out the tips. So I don't know what that could be?

Also I'm not sure what the temperature of the exhaust or cats actually is, but it does feel hotter than I thought it should. Like if I kneel down and put my head below the level of the floor of the truck on the passenger side it almost feels like I'm getting sun burnt, but I don't see any glowing out of the cats.

Heyyou, I left it sit about an hour and a half, the motor wasn't completely cooled off, but it still did it. It does however seem to get worse the longer it's running. But occasionally does run a little better, still not even close to right, but better.

Well, I think I would start by checking TPS and IAC and clean IAC and IAC port very well. Also remove upsteam O2 sensor and crank it up. Cat could be clogging. At least verify that these are NOT the issue before checcking other things. These seem to be the most likely suspects.

the iac could cause it to not accelerate properly and spit and sputter under heavier throttle? Idle itself is fine aside from being a little rough. And how do I check the IAC and TPS? I just read about the pull the O2 sensor thing a minute ago, so I'll try that hopefully my sensors will come out.

It will rev to redline in neutral if I'm easy on the throttle but as soon as I open it passed roughly 1/3rd it starts to cut back down to 2-3k rpm the harder I press. In gear it haven't been able to get it passed 2500rpm no matter how i try to work the gas pedal.

In neutral there is no load, hence, no huge requirement for fuel. Check fuel pressure while running under load. (put the gauge on, and tape it to the windshield, or some such.)

I'm about to go to autozone to see about the Fuel pressure gauge to rent.

And to answer your question from yesterday. It still does it just as bad even when the trucks been sitting all night.

Well at idle this gauges needle bounces like crazy but its around 40 to 50 psi at idle, under light throttle holding the rpms anywhere in the range all the way up to redline it sits about 38-40 psi while trying to accelerate in gear the pressure sits around 20 -25psi, but the truck feels to have the power it used to have in this range, if i mash the pedal to the floor in neutral its about 15-20 psi, and floor it in gear it'll drop to about 10-15psi according to the gauge.

I have a fuel line that I know is questionable but I have yet to see any leaks in it. The system does hold pressure with the key off as well right at 36 psi.

I've also noticed that sometimes it wants to crank for a long time if I just try to crank it up without letting the pump prime. And that when I went to leave the house a little bit ago that it ran alot better for about the first mile then went right back to bad. I did tap somewhat hard on the cats when I parked it last. But even if the cats were clogged that wouldn't explain the fuel pressure drop.
