Tires chopped
Hey I have a question about inside tire high and low spots I took my truck to a tire shop for new tires and I explained that my truck is getting a vibe at highway speeds and around 45 mph as well they look at the tires and felt them and then had me feel them and they said you feel that high and low spot on the tires that what's causing the vibe and that came from bad shocks but before I replace all shocks I just want to make sure that's true and there not just trying to sell me shocks thanks I advance for yalls help and it's a 2000 ram 1500 4x4 with stock leveler kit thanks
Ok I know how to check for bad ball joints but how can I check for the others you listed. Thanks
Jack the truck up enoughy for the tire to be off the ground. Grab the tire at 10 and 6 and see if there is any kind of wiggle in it. All should be tight with no movement. If you get wiggle thats your wheel bearing.
After reading your post again did you havr the truck alligned after the leveling kit was installed?

It was a stock lift that came from factory.... I thought if you hold the tire at 12 and 6 and there is wiggle going back and fourth I thought it was a bad ball joint.. But how can you tell If you have a bad tie rod.
12 and 6 tests upper ball joint, 3 and 9 tests tie rods. For either direction, make sure it isn't the hub/bearing assembly before condemning anything else.
if you have 'cupped' wear on the tires, that is indeed shocks.

Hey I'll tell you what it feels like and you tell me if it is "cupped" when I take my hand and rub the inside of the tires I can feel the tread goes from high to low kinda like a hill affect I guess up and down all the way around the tires
