Default 1998 Dodge ram 1500 replace head gasked truck wont turn on

I have 1998 ram 1500.Just had a blown head gasket, replaced it had my head worked at machine shop,..put back together..but truck wont start at all,all my gauges went off, they barely move just a lil, have 1/2 tank of gas but it show empty, cant get no gas on the main line goes to injectors after i unhook it to see if any fuel comes out when crank,no power to the ignition plugs neither to the distributor.! Does anyone know what might be a problem?

Moved to correct forum.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you may have forgotten to hook up an engine to chassis ground strap so the interior/pcm is not getting properly grounded.

Dido. Should be like 8 grounds under the hood. The most important ones are: one on back of each head, one on Power steering bracket, one right above ac, one on PCM, and i beleive there is one on the transmission.

if youre gauges arent working.... id say your odometer says no bus as well. which means you forgot the grounds that go on the power steering bracket.

Yes it matteres....and paint will prevent good electrical contact. Scrape it clean and reinstall grouns. There is one at the back of the head to the firewall also. You need them all.

and fix the broken wire. Every wire under the hood has a purpose. Some are more critical than others, but, leaving one broken ensures you will have issues.
