Default No Clutch?!

Pulled into the packy after a long hot day at work, came out to go home, have a cold one, Clutch pedal felt a little soft pushing it in. Started fine, wouldn't go in gear, pedal felt soft, coming back up slowly. Shut it off put in gear ,try to start, no clutch! The clutch hadn't been slipping or feeling any different than usual. Could it be the master cylinder? Any info, or experience with this you could share would be appreciated!

Is there (clean) fluid in the reservoir?
Has anything been done to the truck recently; clutch work, tranny work, fluid?
Inspect the clutch pedal bracket/bushings/linkage inside the truck.
Make sure there's no fluid leakage around the master and slave cylinder.

If this happened w/o out any previous signs, I'd guess it's a leak, bad linkage, or possibly the slave/master cylinder went out suddenly.

again check all your hydraulics

@Mc, if your clutch was slipping then that was a clutch issue, not disengaging that is a hydraulic issue

Thanks for the info!, picked it up last night(being a rollback driver has its advantages) Didn't see any obvious leaks, and the fluid was the first thing I looked at and it was fine so I'm thinking the master/slave needs a replace

if you can disconnect the clutch pedal from the master cylinder, and just leave it depressed you should be able to put it in 1st, or reverse, and start it in gear....

the clutch disc will stay in contact with the flywheel, so you should be able to get it going pretty easily.

Well I thought it was slipping but the slave cylinder wasn't holding pressure on the plate

The hydraulics disengage the clutch.... if it slips, your clutch is worn.
