Default Help replacing front right universals/drive shaft.

Looking for info on how to replace the universals on the front drive shaft.
I've searched the forum and came up with no help..
I'm tired of hearing the ticking from the slack on them and need to change them...now can I just replace them or should I replace the drive shaft ??
Also question on the tools I'll need.. What size allen wrench do I need to take the break caliper off ?? And what size socket for the drive shaft ??
Sorry for all the questions...I'd like to do it myself instead of sending it to a repair shop..
Cheers !

Driveshaft? Or the joints on the ends of the axle??

Grab the 01 service manual from the faq section here. The procedure will be in there. Gotta be a DIY around here somewhere for it as well..... I think there is a 'rebuilding the front axle' thread in the faq as well??

1 11/16 socket for the axle nuts
9/16 12 point socket for the hub assy bolts
And I had to use an hydraulic press to pop'em out

If you can get that wheel bearing off without it being destroyed it will be a miracle....

Our Rams are hard on the front wheel bearings and are known to go bad. When I did the U Joints on my Ram I did the bearings as well. It don't make any since to do the job half way when you have eveything apart and have the old bearing in your hand. Also don't get the China ones or you will be doing them again in a year

It's equivalent just like 13mm and 1/2 inch and so on.

LOL. Round off the heads using the wrong size and good luck. Those bolts are on with like a 150 ft pounds.
