I go thru a quart about every 100 miles. The engine doesn't smoke, doesn't leave puddles anywhere... I have no idea where it's going..... I get some smoke when I first take off in the morning, pretty sure that's valve seals, but, I don't think that would account for the volume of oil I am consuming...... Compression/leakdown test isn't going to tell me squat about the condition of my oil control rings..... At 177K miles though, I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't being as effective as they could be...

yea that is quite a bit lmao i used to have a '89 ram with a 318. that thing was quite thirsty, but man did it haul. whew, i miss that truck just talking about it lol
