Default front bumper help (stock or go aftermarket)

Got a 96 ram just so you know.

I been thinking of trying to modifying my stock bumper to hide a winch I got behind it. That way I could run a prerunner bumper Im fixing to order and have a winch to. Is this at all possible or just a waste of time?

Also was wondering if a bumper from a 02 and up would fit on my truck?

The other alternative is just to build one for it and move to the back and do the same thing.

I just cant afford 1,300 bucks for a bumper to run my winch so these is my options.

Bumper from 02 and later will not fit...

Cheapest will be to build or look for good used one. Especially to add a winch.

Get a receiver mount for your winch, and get a front receiver hitch for the truck. Then you can use the winch at either end of the truck.

May be able to find a used Ranch Hand bumper with a front receiver pretty reasonable.

Are you going to buy a prerunner bumper or get one built?

Building is certainly cheaper.... I have a hard time justifying a 1000 dollar plus bumper on my 2000 dollar truck.

a 3rd gen bumper will fit with some home made bracketry... same goes for the 3rd gen rear bumpers, gotta make some brackets to make them fit.

for example

here is my 3rd gen rear bumper install.

GD....... i think a 2006 and up 3rd gen front and rear bumpers would look sick on your truck, with a blue stripe!
