Do the timing chain and gears when you do the plenum... water pump as well if it looks kinda old. Makes a BIG difference in how the engine runs. (double roller timing set please.)

I have heard you talk about that "double roller timing chain". How much is that? Gears as in 4.56's or something else? I have seen diff prices on water pumps, but what have you seen?

Timing chain and the timing gears are replaced as a set. I got mine from advance auto for under 50 bucks. .25 inch rollers, nice piece. Far more accurate than the original morse style chain.

I don't remember how much I paid for the pump... just source it locally.

Thats not bad at all. ha I meant gears for my bigger tires but I see what you mean. I wasnt sure if you meant a special water pump or just one from a local parts store. I will prob get on yours, and everyone elses nerves here in the next couple months. This truck doesnt need a whole lot I guess, but when it comes to what I want to do to it, preparing for that it is gonna take quite a bit. And this site helps a TON

A CAI in marginal, as stated...air form same place as OEM. But a Volante (or somehting similar to that) appears to be an improvement (at a higher cost). I installed a SPectre, but cannot tell the difference over stock...but it looks better.

+1 on the double roller timing set. That does make a difference you can eel if you have high mileage on truck.

After plenum, pump, and timing, SCT tune from hemifever.com helps as well.

Throttle Spacer, waste of cash unless you want the height...

The aftermarket intakes do not do much as the stock intake flows just fine. You can cut the runners down to increase volume but the heads are going to be the real restriction in flow.

The truck came with some tuner that you plug in under the dash, that is suppose to work with just my trucks vin? Does that sound right? Is that the kind of thing everyone keeps suggesting?

What brand is it? Should tell ya somewhere, but, yes, that is a tuner. It overwrites the stock programming in the PCM with something a tad meaner.

Superchips. Problem is I dont know anything about it, and I dont know if he has it setup right. Switching brands is turning out to be a bigger pain than expected lol.
