Restoration of My Dodge
i don't think you need to remove the bumper first.
I do have help...just hard to get them over cuz i live in the sticks...
Going to attempt to get bed ready for removal and take out bad control arm tomorrow..
And by the way can i change the control arm with all 4 tires on the ground or do i need to jack it up

Probably depends on how many floor jacks you have, as you'll have to deal with the spring, right?
You need to jack up the side you are working, make surr to place the jack on the frame. This way when you jack it up the coil will fully extend and it wont have very much tention left on it, makes it easier to just yank out without having to use a spring compressor. Of course all of this is based off of my experience with 2wd's, but im assunibg that the spring is perched on either the upper or lower control arm.
Ill be able to remove control arm without removing spring...
Now i just found that new control arms with bushings are only $35...now i have a clunking sound evertime i go over bumps....all front end parts are new and shock tower is tight...now i assume that this sound can be caused by the bushings...if so then ill just buy all new arms....but before i do can anyone tell me what else could cause the clunking? Dont want to buy all new arms if i dont have to....only have 1 arm that needs replacing and i can get it for free...so im open to suggestions

Hard part was putting back on and getting everything lined up. Get a long 2x4 and make good use of it.
