really? i kinda figured the pcm would just cominsate with the 02 sensor readings...

Without a wideband, who knows. I know my 5.2 ran fine on a 5.9 PCM and the AFRs were perfectly acceptable.

Once the engine goes in to closed loop, yes, the O2 will compensate for being programmed for the wrong motor. Trouble is, when the engine is cold, or, and greater than about 50% throttle openings, PCM goes into open loop. With a larger motor than the PCM thinks is there, you will tend to run lean, which could lead to spark knock...... not a good scene.

well i'm getting the pcm flashed at the dealer 100$, new flywheel from my work 170$ and top end gasket set and oil pan gasket off rock auto for 100$ i'll post it when im done
