biggest lift cam with stock heads
Manual or auto trans? If you have an auto.... you are going to need to do something for the electronic controls...... If the PCM doesn't have a clue what the engine is doing..... it isn't going to know what to do with the trans either.
Switching to a manual trans would solve the issue though.
Other problem becomes the Instrument cluster.... most of which is driven by.... you guessed it.. the PCM. You would need to do something about all of that as well.

I'm a chevy guy and all other motors i built were not computer controled.
your right,I forgot about that.whats a sct tunner cost and whats it cost to have tunes put in it?
its an auto, the trans isnt controlled by the pcm.I was gonna keep it injected but I just figured removing the computer and converting it would be better then messing with the pcm when it comes to tunes for it.

You're in for ride chevy guy...Start reading and saving.
Welcome to Mopar!
BTW, I can modify the bajesus out of a Magnum Motor, my Dakota runs 11's NA at 8600' DA, that's 10's at sea level. But my Ram...Pretty much bone stock, probably going to stay that way. I have bolt on goodies for it, I just know what will happen if I cross that bridge.

You can get an SCT tuner, with canned tunes (good for stock motor, and basic bolt ons..) for 265.00. With custom tunes (major engine changes.... cam, heads, etc.) runs 365.00, but, you will also want a wide band O2 sensor, (another 200 or so...) so you can dial in the tunes nicely.
carb seemed better then messing with computer tunes.the cam that was sugested will i have to get a computer tune?
The first one shouldn't, the second one, recommends it.
Both cams will require better valve springs. I do believe our rockers stock ratio is 1.6:1, so, either of those suggested by Jr. Mechanic are going to exceed the lift capabilities of the stock springs. (.480)
