Aftermarket Keyless Entry Systems...Reviews needed
I want to get a cheap keyless entry system that I can easily wire into my drivers master door switch. It doesn't have to be great but it does need to be reliable. I don't want to have to take the door panel off a bunch of times.
If you have installed an aftermarket system (without alarm) I would love to hear your reviews.
Thanks,
Zac

I had a keyless entry/remote start combination installed for me at BestBuy.
It was the 5101, not sure if they still sell it but the installation was included in the price, which was awesome.
It cost me around $200 total, which I thought was incredible.
Also kinda depends on your closest bestbuy, which mine was 2 hours away.

Shouldn't have to get into the doors themselves, all the wiring you are interested in is available right under the dash. (power lock wires......) If you don't have power locks, but still want keyless entry, then you will have to get into the doors, to install the power locks.

I bought this and installed in my 85 K20 Chevrolet. Unfortunately my dodge didn't have power locks to begin with so i never bothered. As for the install in my Chevy, the installation was very straight forward. If you have even the smallest background in electronics you can figure this one out. I was able to get the whole thing installed before work one morning, probably about 4 hours taking my time double checking everything. It also comes with a starter immobilizer which is a nice feature and will drop your insurance a tad, i however didn't install it on mine. Overall i would recommend this, for fun i hooked the trunk pop lead up to my dixie horns, nothing like playing that good ole southern tune when people walk by your truck at work..
