Default Front axle drop

I checked in the FAQs, DIYs & How To's and found lfts but not how to get the springs out. I got a 2" leveling kit. It say to jack the truck up put it on stands and the drop the fornt axle. I have the shocks out and the upper shock tower is off both sides. But when I lower the jack it does not go law enough for the springs to come out. I see all kinds if wires and tubes. But what can be holding the axle up? I will be back under the truck as the sun comes up. Could the sway bar be holding it up? I lightly it with a small sledge to see if it would move at all but nothing gave. I figure I better disconect all the wires and tubes. But when I hit it with the small sledge I might as well as hit an anvil so it can't be the wires holding it

Disconnect the sway bar. Should give you enough space to get everything out

That is what I was thinking but ran out of light. Thanks, working in this heat with no shade really makes it hard to think clearly.

or use coil spring compressors to shorten them up.

After some rest I feel stupid. I am just used to leaf springs. I am way over thinking this.

So fuzzy dice, hold my tounge right, and use a bigger hammer I have it now.

To make it really ez

Remove the sway bar
unbolt the drag link from the pitman arm
unbolt the track bar
unbolt the drive-shaft

Doing this will let the diff drop fully and ezly to the point you need, yes it's a little extra work but it helps a lot.

Edit: Watch those front brake lines they only go so far.

Or just rent some spring compressors and not have to do any of that.

All I disconnected (yes, on my 2500, I doubt it makes much difference) was the sway bar and the shocks. Did it with wheels still attached.
