Turn the nut up side down so the the castellated part of the nut goes on first, If it starts use it like a Die run it up and down the threads a few times then turn the nut back the right way and run it tight, some lube on the threads would not hurt when doing this either. If you can't get the threads fixed by you or a shop then yes you will need a new trac bar.

I think because of the hole drilled in it for the pin I jacked it up hammering it out. Like the sides of the bolt flared out. I tried flipping the nut over and it did not work but thanks for the idea. That is why the first thing an IT person asks is if the computer is turned on. Sometimes wee need a someone to tell us things we know. I hate it when I break things. I need someone smaller to do the hammering for me so fewer things get broken.

Ok what about a high speed cut off wheel, cut the stud off bellow the swollen part if there is room for the nut still.

I don't have the hundred dollars to get a new bar so now life sucks. Anybody have one laying around near Houston?

Grind or file the flared end of the bolt, so you can get the nut to start.

Have a look at the hole for the cotter key, if you aren't going to be able to get the cotter key back thru the hole, replace the bar. That is a major safety issue.
