Default magnum valve train and heads on la block?

yeah I sold the 440 and bought a 71-74 short block 360.I know I'll have to drill and tap for the lifter hold down plate but i was wondering if the stock lifters, lifter retainers, push rods, rockers and magnum heads will all go into the la 360 block?

what do you plan on putting this in? it will be just as much work to stick a LA 360 in your 99 as it would be to stick a 440 in it. from what i have read to stick magnum head on a LA engine you have to get custom push rods. not really worth the efforts. just go get another magnum engine.

Dude, ask the questions in your original thread, there is NO reason to start a new thread for every idea or question you have. '

And +1000, just get another Magnum.

It was a cool idea when you were talking about lots of cubes. Magnum bottom ends are far superior to LA's. Shoulda just done the carbed 440.

why are you trying to make this soo hard for you. The magnum motor is a great motor, readily available, and will swap right in.

the 360 is going in my 99 ram, taking the computer out,a built 904 is going in place of the stock tranny.I'm going throu out the entire motor and rebuilding everything thing.i know the block will bolt right in...
my question was is the magnum lifters, push rods, heads and rockers will go in the 360 la block?
yeah I know magnum heads on a la block require different push rods and amc rockers but thats with a flat tappet cam.

a la 360 will not just bolt into a 2nd gen ram. you will have to make custom motor mounts or something. now magnum 318's and 360's have the old motor mount ears to bolt into a older dodge vehicles.

I'm using the 72 motor plates with mounts and just gonna drill holes in the frame where they mount to if theres none that matches up.

i don't know if it is that easy. i think it would be so much easier and cheaper to just buy a magnum engine.
drilling a hole for motor mount might be hard
