Well I've had a best of 29 mpg on a round trip, but I don't get on forums claiming that's what I get day in and day out either... I would say other factors are my 2" lift suspension lift, 4x4, extended cab, and still haven't changed my 5yr old air filter covered in wasp mud

But, I can hardly get butthurt over 1st gen 5.9s... have to remember that I got stuck with a bad v8 and this was still cheaper than buying a 1st/2nd gen 5.9 with under 200k...

On a positive note, a member at 4btswaps just dyno'd his nearly identical motor and mods and ended up with 164hp@1960rpm and 487tq@1670rpm

Talking about the imports earlier in the thread, I saw this on a Subaru Impreza the other day and thought Ihad to get a pic to share here. Great bold by the way. I'm jealous.

I am sure with tuning and a new air filter you will gain a bit. Either way you still have a cool truck.

@Stewie no I am not. I get 18-20 uncorrected (tire size). My truck isn't exactly built for the best mpg's, nor do I drive it for best mpg 100% of the time haha. The trucks I hear about making those numbers are moderately turned up 5spd 2wd regular cab's with 3.07 or 3.54 gears. Intake and exhaust and a little pump tuning goes a long way.

So last night I welded up a new throttle bracket for the pull lever with scrap metal and some washers... Found out I've been missing out on roughly 3/8"-1/2" of travel when I looked at my old jerry-rigged set up

Went through her and did the pre-winter maintenance, since the fuel filter was out I pulled the fuel psi sending unit since it never goes over 5psi anyway. I moved it into the boost tubing, so hopefully I can get some boost psi with the sending unit?

Might be interesting to see what kind of boost I'm running and if liquid psi is similar to air psi

That is some great feedback right there. Very honest and genuine and it deserves props! Moreover, holy craper-rap-tera on those dyno numbers. Moar torque!! hahahaha Very very slick.

Question....what are you doing with the 06 Mega if this 4 banger is the DD?

It has a car seat in it now lol. It's a bit safer than the 98 so the ole lady is dd'ing it 10 miles a day hehe. Only pulled my camper 2-3 times this summer, so it's pretty much being wasted

Seeing about 18-19psi with my new boost gauge, sounds about right I guess. Also swapped on the stock trans pan to see if I can get my temps up a little better this winter

After finding a hung brake caliper and fixing some lost vacuum I took a 188.1 mile round trip at 55mph and used 6.64 gallons of #2. Something like 28.3mpg...

Diesel is $3.64/ gallon and gasoline was $3.14

So 7.77miles per dollar vs 5.07miles per dollar...
