Default Where can I find a transmission oil pan?

Hi!

I'm looking for a transmission oil pan for my '99 V6 (automatic). Not sure how I can tell which transmission it actually is... Was looking at a workshop manual for Rams 2001 and up, and it said the number is stamped on top of the pan on the left hand side, but I can't find anything there
I looked at rockauto, and all they sell is gaskets for it. Looking at the gaskets they show for my year, this one is the right shape and the right number of bolts:

Text for this says it's for a Chrysler 42RH Automatic transmission, does that sound right?

Reason I need one is that mine is pretty rusty and seems to have developed some pin holes, at least that's what I assume. There's always lots of oil at the bottom of the pan, but not enough that it's actually dripping away, only slowly seeping.

I checked at AdvanceAuto, but they don't have it. The local junk yard doesn't keep storage, just has the cars sitting out without wheels and take what you want, but that's kind of a problem when the car is literally sitting on the part I want

Any other places I can look? Used would be totally fine, as long as it's not also rusted through.

Thanks,

Thomas

You have a 42RE trans, but, I think the pans are the same. Might have to go aftermarket, and get a 'deep' pan, or some such. Parts store might be able to order the stock pan, dealer certainly would be able to. (but, dealer will probably want a premium price for that piece of stamped steel.......)

Ah, cool. So, this would work?

Same transmission you say, but from a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Looks right to me, shape-wise.
Is there anything else I should take a look at/replace while I have the pan off?

Should work.... if you are having any issue with the trans, while you are in there, fluid, filter, and perhaps the solenoids if you are feeling froggy.

I bought a new stock pan - now made without the powder coating- at the stealership for less than $50 last fall. I also have the same tranny you do in my 2001 V6 ram.

Maybe adjust front/rear bands while your down/in there, again if yer feelin froggy..If you're really feeling it install a universal drain plug, makes for neat fluid changes..less than $10 for the parts @ home depot...

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Jeep pan fits great. I ordered a filter from RockAuto as well, which came with two different rubber gaskets (one of which fit like a glove).
