Water pumps?

Default Water pumps?

Im looking at water pumps on rock auto and it says with or without a threaded heater port? Which should I get?

Depends on what they mean by the heater port... if the are referring to the metal tube the heater hose goes to, that is not threaded. If they are referring to the bypass hose, that has a fitting that does indeed thread into it.

i think its referring to the heater hose pipe, which pushes in with an o-ring seal. i didn't know any of ours had a threaded heater hose pipe.

I've never heard of a ram water pump with a threaded heater port. I would go with the unthreaded one. you can pull off your water pump before you order a new one and try to pull off the heater hose, it will be to the right of the bypass hose. make sure you bring your pliers, it can be a bitch sometimes.

Bypass tube goes in with O rings and is not threaded.

My water pump is threaded for the bypass hose fitting. The driver side heater hose fitting is o-ringed.

Mine came with the 3/4" hose fitting in place. May vary by manufacturer.

I would call rockauto and ask them to be sure.
